But I Don't Have Time to Eat Well!

Myth: As a holistic health coach, I spend hours in the kitchen each day preparing my food.

Truth: This my friends is all about STRATEGY and PLANNING. If I do NOT meal plan and find myself surprised each day around 5:00 pm that I have to make dinner (Again? Really?), I spend much more time in the kitchen.

Setting aside time once or twice a week for meal planning, shopping and prep is key. Cooking more at once and leveraging leftovers cuts down on my time in the kitchen. Keeping most meals SIMPLE is important.

But let’s be honest, life gets lifey and even the best laid plans get derailed.

This is when I pull out quick, back pocket meals that I can rely on. I keep staples in my pantry. I know how to read labels and what to look for when I am choosing convenience foods. They may not be perfect but are good enough. I add some vegetables and call it a win. I know our healthier options when we eat out.

I can create the most BEAUTIFUL menu plan, but if it isn’t realistic, if it requires more hours than we have in the day to follow, then it is WORTHLESS.

How many of you have left a practitioner’s office or read a book with the BEST protocol in the world. AKA the “Perfect Person Plan”.

And the rollercoaster ride begins…

You are going to eat ONLY the good foods, take ALL the supplements, exercise EVERY day, meditate for an hour every morning and every evening.

You. Are. Pumped. Motivated. You have found THE answer. You feel like you can do anything!

And then you attempt to implement ALL the things into your ACTUAL life and realize, wait a minute, this isn’t going to work. I don’t have 40+ hours a week to dedicate to this protocol. I have a job. A family. A life.

So… feeling like a failure, you give up, DEFEATED, with ALL the negative thoughts. And you end up eating worse than you ate before this perfect plan.

Fast and processed foods become your go-to. They are SO much easier and taste SO good. Might as well top it off with a glass of wine. Or 4.

You stop working out. “What’s the use?” Meditation? “It’s a waste of time and I’m not good at it anyway.”

You get off the rollercoaster feeling a bit sick with yet more proof that you can’t do it. You don’t have what it takes. Other people do. But not you.

While this may sound extreme, there is a bit of truth here that I think we have all experienced.

What is REALISTIC and DOABLE? Start there. And do that consistently.

Are you or someone you know struggling with stress, extra weight, sugar and carb cravings, a slow metabolism? If you are fed up and want to feel better,  I can help! You don’t have to do this  alone.
