Hello friends,
I read Wicked over the holidays and my daughter has been preparing for her role as Glinda in her 8th grade play. Wizard of Oz has been top of mind. Oh my!
As have blood sugar, metabolic health and Urolithin A.
I have been digging deep into these topics…and wow. A similar sentiment from last week, our bodies are a freakin’ miracle.
Sound metabolic health and a healthy blood sugar response are cornerstones of good health. Dysregulation in these areas can lead to a very, very long list of diseases.
I am including a link to a literature review I wrote on the compound Urolithin A. For those of you on social media, you have likely seen advertisements for this supplement. The red pill that promises more energy, more muscle, and better skin.
While I do not think everyone needs to order a supply of Urolithin A right now, I do think the topic of metabolic health is really important and desperately needs our attention.
Our current diet and lifestyle are wreaking havoc on our metabolic health.
Too many people are chronically stressed, sleep deprived, sedentary (Did you know that even if you go to the gym each morning but sit the rest of the day, you could still suffer the consequences of being sedentary?), totally distracted, and eating too many refined and processed foods.
I get it. Convenience is important. We are busy, juggling everything. Obligations and commitments. Kids, aging parents, careers. Life can feel non-stop. Our time and energy are limited.
And we still have to learn how to take care of ourselves. So we CAN juggle all the things we want to and need to juggle. (And develop the clarity of mind to see what we need to put down.)
What you eat every single day matters. What you do and don’t do every single day matters.
We have extraordinary agency in supporting our metabolic health through food, movement, and our daily habits.
While the body is complex the solutions are simple.
Achieving and maintaining healthy blood sugar is a really great place to start.
Join me February 12th at 7:00 pm on Zoom for a free webinar, “Can I Have My Cake and Eat It Too? A Workshop all about Sugar.”
We will delve into all things blood sugar. You will learn what to eat. You will walk away with actionable tools for supporting your own blood sugar regulation.
This workshop is for everyone who eats and for everyone who takes care of others who eat.
I can’t wait to see you there.
(Save the date and I will send out the link closer to February 12th)
With Love,
Angie
